Concept Designer/Render

Position Overview

Primary Responsibilities:

  • close cooperation with Shaw sales team, work as part of Shaw’s Visualization team to generate high-quality 2D and Custom Room Scenes (Application of carpet & flooring textures to construction plans and photographs)

  • Communicate and coordinate internally with sales reps, marketing and non-standard products group (NSP) as well with external stake-holders like architects, interior designers, dealers and end-users to ensure desired output is achieved.

  • Partner with sales rep in strategic brainstorming, offering creative solutions and presenting creative rationale that is in line with clients’ objectives.

  • Manage and maintain the creative direction and goals for specific projects and provide accurate time estimates and resources needed.

  • Work closely with sales and account executives to schedule and monitor all projects.

  • Translate schematic design documents to conceptual drawings, by creating and developing designs; that reflect the existing architecture.

  • Prepare image assets for website, print and presentation usage for new product.

  • Review completed projects of work for quality control.

  • Stays current with market trends to understand competitive landscape.

  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, sales reps and internal partners and provide exceptional customer service.

    Position Requirements:

  • Preferred 4-year degree in Architecture/Interior Design or related field.

  • 1-year minimum experience (3 years preferred) with Adobe Photoshop CS, knowledge to include image sizing, layers, image effects (blending, opacity, feathering), filtering & merging, creating masks, using paths, creating/duplicating lighting effects, perspective, color management, and airbrushing.

  • Minimum 1-year experiences with Adobe Illustrator, 3 Years preferred.

  • Minimum 1-years’ experience with AutoCAD, 3 Years preferred.

  • Working knowledge of 3d modelling programs

  • Sketch-up and Revit, value add.

  • A good understanding of perspective (one point, two point and three point) and vanishing point, as well as the ability to understand & interpret architectural drawings.

  • Working knowledge of an architecture and design firm’s workflow, from schematics to final design phase.
