Heatset Department Manager
Shaw Industries is looking for a Department Manager to oversee all Heatset operations within the Aiken, SC facility. The candidate should have a passion for people, safety, and quality, and a drive to continuously improve and create results within their team. This leader will impact day to day operations within the department as well as steer the long term success for the facility and customer.

Drive efforts to reach a high standard for safety, quality, and productivity on a daily basis within the department.
Assure production activities are in compliance with company policies and procedures to include environmental and safety compliance.
Directly empower all team members and support associates to achieve personal, plant and company goals.
Foster collaborative relationships with business partners in Lean Enterprise, Human Resources, Plant Maintenance, Quality, Technical Groups for Continuous Process Improvements, Cost and Product Development efforts.
Monitor Heatset production flow and assist in the schedule of yarn throughout the plant.
Provide direction for each supervisor within the department and provide them with the training and proper tools to do their jobs.
Audit systems to identify target areas that need improvement.
Maintain a system of cost controls within the department including: Safety, Absenteeism, Turnover, Waste, Labor Cost, Maintenance, Repair Cost, Machine efficiency and Non Conformances.
Assist Plant Manager and their Management Team in maintaining Customer/Supplier relationships.
Assist in developing Process Specifications for all processes within the Heatset Departments and implementing them.
Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures for all jobs within the department.
Attend all meetings required to insure proper communication and continued improvement in department processes.
Work with Quality Assurance Manager and Lab Technicians to correct Non Conformances. Assure Twisted yarn meets customer requirements.

Coach and Support
4 year Bachelor's Degree preferred, High school diploma or higher required
2+ years management experience (Process Engineer, Supervisor or Department Manager) in a manufacturing environment.
Passion and track record of achieving results
Proven ability to work collaboratively with all levels of associates.
Proven ability to improve processes and cost reduction initiatives
Proven ability to establish/maintain/drive positive associate relations.
Experience with continuous manufacturing processes.
