Position Overview
Shaw Industries is looking for Maintenance Tech roles who will play an important role in the manufactur e of a variety of flooring solutions for our residential and commercial customers. We are looking for individuals who are motivated, interested in learning various skills, and who enjoy problem solving. Schedules for this role will be 12-hours non-rotating shifts (7PM-7AM) or (7AM to 7PM).

What Is Expected In This Role:
Safe work practices.
Maintain manufacturing process and support equipment to high performance levels.
Adherence to standards and best practice applications acquired through training and work experience.
Troubleshoot and execute repairs of equipment causing or contributing to safety, quality, and downtime/productivity opportunities.
Communicate findings, identifying potential causes, and correct steps to operations and maintenance leadership.
Grow in knowledge of maintenance practices and equipment performance, understanding their impact on manufacturing processes and business objectives.
Provide feedback on job assignment needs and improvement opportunities with peers and leadership.
Strengthen personal skills with continuous improvement and utilizing offered trainings.
Mentor Maintenance Techs in the development of needed skills.
What Skills You Would Need:
Power transmission components - bearings, pulleys/sheaves, shafts/rollers, couplings, sprockets, chains, belts, motors, and gearboxes.
Conveyance systems – product/process related, as well as those tied to utilities such as steam, water, air, electricity, etc.
Mechanical control systems - including related hydraulic & pneumatic elements.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics and make simple sketches.
Precision alignment techniques for direct-coupled elements, including laser alignment.
Basic fabrication skills including knowledge of welding and cutting techniques and tools.
Intermediate troubleshooting techniques of mechanical systems, understanding electrical interactions.
