Polymerization Department Manager
To manage the Polymerization Department.
Responsibilities (considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility):
Comply with department Work Instruction and Standard Operating Procedures found in SMS Manual.
Perform all job duties using safe work methods.
Comply with corporate absenteeism and tardiness policy.
Work a minimum of 40 hours and be accessible at all times. Work overtime as required.
Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
Directly supervise Senior Process Engineer, Supervisor and Master Electrician in Polymerization Department.
Keep Supervisors focused on goals in the following areas:
Production Waste Attendance Safety Quality
Monitor trials and SYR's in the Polymerization and supporting Departments.
Keep Supervisor focused on Polymerization Department housekeeping.
Keep Supervisor focused on employee safety and plant safety rules.
Keep Supervisor focused on making sure machinery is running within SPC and Product guidelines.
Meet as needed with Shift Supervisor and Senior Process Engineer to keep them informed of new information concerning Polymerization Department .
Keep Supervisor focused on running his/her shifts according to written requirements.
Keep support groups focused on providing support to the Polymerization Department as needed through work orders, memos, and verbal communication.
Attend meetings concerning department or plant matters as needed.
Address employee’s concerns and issues.
Must comply with contractor safety program.
Maintain Rate requirements and External Packout Requirements.
The Departmental Manager is accountable for their department’s Environmental, Performance, and Results, as well as the following :
Accountable for Plant Safety Performance and Results.
Accountable for Plant Quality Performance and Results
Accountable for Plant Productivity and Performance.
Accountable for Plant People Performance and Results.
Accountable for Plant Technical Performance and Results. Participate in the facility Q.I.T.
Accountable for the Plant Equipment Reliability Performance via utilizing TPM and Lean.
Maintains favorable and effective relations among employees.
Motivates supervisors to ensure consistent, equal and fair treatment of their employees.
Maintain updated performance metrics within department.
Establish Documented Job Assignment Protocol.
Maintain fair and balance accountability to the expectations of the departments’ objectives.
Deliver Compelling Communication
Demonstrate Strategic Influence
Build Successful Teams
Must have a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in engineering
Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Must possess good interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Knowledge of Polymerization and Extrusion.
8 hour, day shift
