Project Engineer
Position Overview
Shaw Industries is looking for a Project Engineer to oversee project development and execution, while utilizing project management tools to ensure manufacturing projects are completed in alignment with schedules, budgets, performance, quality, and safety standards. This professional will play a vital role in coordinating with manufacturing management, corporate business groups, and outside agencies to drive quality control, modernization, and process improvement efforts.

Responsibilities
Envision and develop project concepts for industrial power systems, electrical systems, lighting systems, UPS systems and emergency power.
Create and control project budgets and timelines (Gantt Chart).
Determine power loads and energy requirements for newly installed equipment.
Combine specifications, standards, drawings, and other documentation into bid packages and solicit bids for equipment and/or services.
Manage all contractor activities including the inspection of completed work, approving vendor-supplied equipment to ensure compliance with specifications, and minimizing disruptions to normal plant activities.
Act as the primary liaison between Corporate Engineering and plant management.
Publish and maintain ongoing and completed project reports.
Promote OSHA safety and construction standards
Qualifications
4-year Engineering degree with 5 years related experience OR 10+ years of industrial project management experience in absence of a degree.
Must be able to work required overtime, including being on-call.
Possess strong working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) NFPA 70, NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace), and National Electric Safety Code (NESC / ANSI C2).
Must have knowledge of the design of electrical systems in an industrial environment including 13,800, 12,470 Volt, 4,160 Volt, and 480 Volt distribution.
Possess strong working knowledge of the OSHA safety and construction standards, applicable ANSI, and ASME manufacturing codes and standards.
Experience with project scheduling and project scheduling software.
Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
Project work will primarily be based in, but not limited to, Aiken, SC. Must be flexible to travel occasionally as needed

Salary Grade: Depending on the level of experience, this position may be filled as a 6, 7, or 8.
Work Shift
8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
