Twisting Lead Operator

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is hiring for a night shift Twisting Lead to provide support to Plant 78 Twisting Department. This position will serve as a leader and champion of day-to-day production operations.

Responsibilities: (considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility):

  • Fill-in as Shift Supervisor Participate and aid in automation including programming the cobots when require

  • Support Supervisors, Process Engineer(s) and Department Manager and keep informed on process issues arise with co-bots and address it Attend and aid in leading pre-shift meetings

  • Follow-up on quality issues Conduct housekeeping audits in Twisting operational areas

  • Follow-up on production issues Conduct Standard Work checklist including Gemba/Process walks

  • Ensure compliance with LOTO training Ensure compliance with PIT training

  • Ensure compliance with all Shaw Safety Policies, Human Resource Policies & Standards of Conduct Assist with gathering information for Medgate entries Input work orders as needed

  • Complete changeover documents & verify changeover accuracy

  • Print production labels

  • Check and verify production paperwork on production lines

  • Check completions of Twisting PMs and condition reports

  • Perform administrative duties related to production Ensure LTOs are issuing product correctly

  • Follow-up on quality issues with WIP inventory

  • Verify EOLs are completed Attend Technician huddle meetings and enter downtime in YSF Aid in organizing and maintaining WIP inventory supermarket by tube color

  • Attend trainings as necessary (First-aid, CPR, soft skills, etc.)

  • Coach associates and conduct one-on-ones Reviewing Weekly Safety Topics with associates

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math.

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

  • Experience in manufacturing preferred.

  • Must have working computer experience.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, supervisors and associates.

  • Must be able to work well under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Must be able to comply with all plant policies.

  • Must be able to read and analyze reports and information.

  • Must be able to work in various situations and with management.

  • Must be able to recognize various types of defects.

  • Must be able to perform tasks quickly and safely.

  • Must have a working knowledge of all job functions in the department in order to provide direction and leadership.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry loads of up to 50 pounds without assistance.

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp and reach frequently.

  • Must be able to work with hands/arms extended overhead.

  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders repeatedly.

  • Must be able to work in industrial environment with elevated noise levels, dust, dirt, humidity and temperature variations.

  • Must participate in pre-shift stretching exercises.

Work Shift

12 Hr rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Act Calendar, shift starts PM, days change only
