Operations Management Trainee (OMT) in Industrial Engineering - Andalusia, AL

Position Overview

To utilize lean tools and models to oversee product flow within an automated manufacturing site of 1200 + employees to optimize process and automation integration.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the financial and productivity impact of any proposed changes involving equipment changes/reliability, route changes, process changes/interruptions, and product volume or mix changes to the automation process.

  • Initiate, communicate and coordinate “change management” requirements around raw material availability to all affected stakeholders as necessary.

  • Responsible for driving high-level process design decisions through analysis and for ensuring seamless integration between material flow systems throughout the site using modeling and simulation trials as well as utilizing lean principles by performing value-stream analysis simulations.

  • Establish and continuous monitor key metrics of material flow integration/automation systems to proactively address issues/inputs negatively impacting performance.

  • Collaborate and mitigate risk with the team by developing protocol and standard work to ensure continuity of processes in emergency scenarios.

  • Plan and/or implement improvements to internal processes and systems for continuous improvement of material flow.

  • Collaborate with other departments to define objectives, accomplish goals and coordinate feedback systems for alarms and follow up.

  • Ensure integration of scheduling, production, and automation systems.

  • Troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis to resolve complex process balance issues.

Requirements:

  • 4 year Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or Supply Chain Managamenet Degree

  • Prefer Black Belt Certification

  • Must have good interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to communicate ideas both verbally and in writing

What you’ll be doing:In our Operations Management Trainee (OMT) program, you will complete a 14-week training program that consists of technical training, leadership development, and professional development. We provide our OMT’s with opportunities to apply their skills and knowledge to projects within the workplace.

There are many success stories that have resulted for this program, and most graduates have gone on to hold leadership positions across the company.
