Position Overview

With 130 sales representatives across North America, the Patcraft marketing and design teams support the development and sales of our flooring via product promotional support, social media engagement, technical papers, design services and general sales support.
The Interior Designer role will contribute to the styling and functional design development of Patcraft branded components and graphic user solutions. This person will work with a team of creative designers, technical resources, and marketing leaders to improve our overall customer experience. The Patcraft objective of Personalized and Streamlined Customer Experience through one-on-one connection to clients to gain understanding of space concepts, how they are using product, application ideas, creative solutions through digital presentations.
This role is a hybrid position allowing for the portion of the weekly work being remote and a portion being performed out of the Cartersville, GA, Chicago or New York Patcraft showrooms. The Showroom location will be based on the teammate's primary residence.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Create segment specific packages for product recommendations for floors, wall and accessories. Trend research and guidance on shifts in each segment. Use floor plan maps as basis for design- showing how to use product in a space
Brand standards for materials going out for Design Services, renderings, and idea starter. Create integrated presentation formats to create consistency through all visualization platforms.
Design Consultation Services - Concept with application ideas- Create Product and color selections including soft and hard surface products and could include Benjamin Moore paints and wall base for clients and web usage.
Creative Direction -Work with the product development team and marketing to create creative direction for new product to be used on web, social media and in product marketing. All furniture, flooring, finish selection with segment direction and color palette development.
Create Floor plan application ideas for clients by communicating with them about requirements for performance, space, etc. Direct Visualization (2d & 3d renderings that includes art direction/furniture placement selection, etc.) to be packaged in a customer facing Digital presentation to be reviewed with clients. Create storyboards to be shared with clients to communicate vision of design concepts.
Create physical and digital presentation boards or trays based on color palette, concept or segment for individual clients, AM or for use on the website. These could also be used on the web.
Create coordinating styles and color recommendations to be shown on website for each new product launch
Create installation thought starters for website as new products are launched for both hard and soft surfaces.
Lead trend/consumer driver conversations with customers in partnership with account managers.
User studies to understand ease of use and integration with current tool kit of designers. Test and review visualization tools on the new patcraft.com
Develop virtual and in person product presentations for account managers directed at specific design needs through storytelling through product concept or solutions. Provide feedback on sales tools and the value they bring to A&D customers.
Assist with creative content to share on social media based on the coordinating palette and designs put together.
Through partnership with other commercial finish providers, create segment related interactive room scenes to be viewed on website or social media connection products, specs, manufacturers, etc.
2D + 3D Visualization - moving from production to design direction + consultation for clients, in a time frame that is expected.
One on one consultations with a designer - to better understand the intent of requests, the scale of the space beyond the floor and decrease turnaround time with fewer revisions.
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of current trends and current market segments relevant in the commercial market.
Creative proficiency with supporting our Patcraft product portfolio.
Good oral and written communications skills.
Good Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
Education and Training:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture
5+ years of interior design experience
Proficiency with graphics software: Sketch up, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD and Revit
