Maintenance Utility II
Position Objective: Performs basic utility and upkeep on plant equipment .
Essential Duties (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):
Changes and cleans filter media in air washers, climacells, quench units, and other HVAC equipment.
Maintains cleanliness of grounds by picking up trash and emptying trash containers.
Assists Support Services personnel with minor repairs and maintenance to Plant equipment.
Clean and paint plant equipment and equipment areas.
Cleans Plant Pump Rooms.
Keeps roadways and parking lots clean using ride-on sweeper.
Maintains all equipment in a safe and operable condition.
Uses hand tools properly and safely.
Operates lift truck and scissor lift to transport and/or obtain access to equipment.
Performs housekeeping as required in Maintenance Shop area and other work areas.
Enters maintenance data in MP2/CMMS EZ Entry.
Complies with Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) System requirements.
Complies with procedures found in Shaw Management System (SMS).
Works normally scheduled days in compliance with the Plant Attendance Policy.
Works overtime as required.
Non-Essential Duties (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):
Assists Maintenance employees, as needed.
Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat, lift, carry, and reach as required.
Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds as required.
Ability to work with hands overhead as required.
Ability to ascend and descend stairs as required.
Ability to work at different heights and work from a lift truck basket or a ladder as required.
Ability to climb on and off a lift truck as required.
Ability to operate hand-powered tools as required.
Must possess good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Must be able to work rotating shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
Actively participates in the Quality P.R.I.D.E. Process.
Must perform any other job duties as assigned by supervision.
Must be able to work without close supervision.
Must be available for call in duty.
Must complete orientation training session.
Must complete job requirements training as defined in the training procedures.
Must complete EQA/PRIDE/Environmental Training.
Must complete SDS/CRTK Training.
Must complete training for CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) /EZ Entry
Must successfully complete Lift Truck Operator certification.
Tool, Equipment, & Material Requirements:1. Responsible for safety equipment issued including safety glasses and earplugs. 2. Responsible for materials and supplies issued. 3. Responsible for equipment and materials necessary to perform assigned tasks. 4. Must provide the required mechanical hand tools.
Safety & Security Requirements:
Must maintain a safe and clean work area at all times.
Must report any unsafe conditions to supervision.
Must report all accidents no matter how slight to supervision immediately.
Must wear personal protective equipment as required while on the job.
Must comply with all plant and departmental safety rules and regulations.
Must wear toe-protective safety shoes.
8 hour, day shift
