Manufacturing Supervisor 3rd Shift

Position Overview

To supervise a safe, efficient and productive work environment so as to satisfy our customers’ (both internal and external) requirements, and improve the overall abilities of all Twisting and Heatset associates.

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties: (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility)

• Responsible for daily operation of the Heat Set and Twisting D epartments

• Continuously strives to provide a safe work environment to help reach our goal of Zero accidents.

• Continuously works to produce Zero defects. Investigates any quality problem within the department.

• Supervises assigned work, gives proper instructions and follows up on performance of employees.

• Coordinates product flow in a manner as to best meet the needs of each department while also meeting the requirements of the Scheduling Department.

• Assures employees are following proper procedures while conforming to customer requirements.

• Monitors shift status production. Turns in production report to Department Manager.

• Coordinates all maintenance projects within the Department, and directs Mechanics as needed.

• Tours department observing quality and operations of equipment. Investigates production problems and takes corrective action as needed.

• Actively works to increase employee awareness, attendance and morale.

• Actively seeks out areas of improvement within the department.

• Actively promotes and maintains the SQS, PRIDE and SAFE systems within the department.

• Assists in selecting and evaluating raw material suppliers / products.

• Works to develop systems and attitudes to ensure improving housekeeping.

• Completes daily supervisor report.

• Ensure weekly PM of equipment is performed.

• Follows procedure for employees returning from LOA or Layoff.

• Completes all required Kronos reporting.

  Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Must be able to perform basic math.

• Must have working knowledge of computers.

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

• Previous supervisory experience preferred.

  Other Requirements:

• Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, supervisors and associates.

• Must be able to work well under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines.

• Must be able to comply with all plant policies.

• Must be able to read and analyze reports and information.

• Must be able to work in various situations and with management.

• Must be able to recognize various styles of product.

• Must be able to recognize various types of defects.

• Must be able to perform tasks quickly and safely.

• Must have a working knowledge of all job functions in the department in order to provide direction and leadership.

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to out-punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts PM
