Supervisor - Heatset/Twisting - 2nd shift
To supervise a safe, efficient and productive work environment so as to satisfy our customers’ (both internal and external) requirements, and improve the overall abilities of all Twisting and Heatset associates.
(Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility).
Responsible for daily operation of the Heat Set and Twisting D epartments.
Continuously strives to provide a safe work environment to help reach our goal of Zero accidents.
Continuously works to produce Zero defects.
Investigates any quality problem within the department.
Supervises assigned work, gives proper instructions and follows up on performance of employees.
Coordinates product flow in a manner as to best meet the needs of each department while also meeting the requirements of the Scheduling Department.
Assures employees are following proper procedures while conforming to customer requirements.
Monitors shift status production.
Turns in production report to Department Manager.
Coordinates all maintenance projects within the Department, and directs Mechanics as needed.
Tours department observing quality and operations of equipment.
Investigates production problems and takes corrective action as needed.
Actively works to increase employee awareness, attendance and morale.
Actively seeks out areas of improvement within the department.
Actively promotes and maintains the SQS, PRIDE and SAFE systems within the department.
Assists in selecting and evaluating raw material suppliers / products.
Works to develop systems and attitudes to ensure improving housekeeping.
Completes daily supervisor report.
Ensure weekly PM of equipment is performed.
Follows procedure for employees returning from LOA or Layoff.
Completes all required Kronos reporting.
High school diploma or GED.
Previous leadership experience within the last 5 years.
Must be able to perform basic math.
Must have working knowledge of computers.
Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Communicate effectively with all levels of management, supervisors and associates.
Work well under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines.
Comply with all plant policies.
Read and analyze reports and information.
Work in various situations and with management.
Recognize various styles of product.
Recognize various types of defects.
Perform tasks quickly and safely.
Working knowledge of all job functions in the department in order to provide direction and leadership.
