Position Overview

Our Event Specialist provides strategic direction and execution in planning and logistics associated with sales meetings, events, and trade shows. This position works full-time from our commercial marketing campus in Cartersville, GA.

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage all national trade show components including: booth and participant registration; coordination of booth contents, shipping logistics and installation and dismantle; work with product development team and marketing to coordinate products shown and include any new introduction materials; compile samples, promotional collateral, etc; coordinate floor carpet and oversee installers at show site; work with design agency on new space designs and booth refurbishments; develop show marketing theme and brand message; develop show schedule and budgets; attend national trade shows.

  • Manage all local trade show and in-market event requests: maintain relationships with exhibit vendors; provide direction on display booths and materials; create and maintain inventory of available booth properties; maintain material budget.

  • Assist Marketing Directors in providing creative direction for trade show collateral based on the theme of the event; coordinate off-site events in conjunction with show schedule.

  • Responsible for brand led events and meetings and regional and national sales meetings; develop and maintain relationship with Shaw Travel; secure location and perform site visits for meeting locations; develop meeting itinerary in conjunction with marketing leaders; maintain attendee lists; coordinate travel arrangements for clients and sales force; attend all events.

  • Provide strategic recommendations to enhance customer experience.

  • Assist Marketing Manager with other duties as assigned.

  • Perform multi-functional duties as needed to accomplish any task as assigned by direct or dotted-line Management.

  • Assist other departments or organizations as assigned.

  • Demonstrate leadership, exemplify professionalism, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and work hard to achieve company goals.

  • Must have the ability to see strategic opportunities, and the competence to understand the tactical details of implementation at all levels.

  • Perform all duties and activities with a minimum of expense.

  • Attend all meetings, travel, and work long hours as assigned or needed.

Required skills and experience:

  • 4-year communication, marketing, or journalism degree.

  • 2-4 years sales and/or marketing experience.

  • Clear and verbal communication skills

  • Advanced writing and editing abilities.

  • Excellent problem solver with good attention to detail and ability to think strategically.

  • Marketing and/or product development experience in the carpet industry desired, but not required

  • Must be adaptable to a dynamic work environment and able to implement alternate solutions

  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and possess good organizational skills
