Position Overview

Advance your career at Shaw Industries as a Talent Acquisition Specialist . In this role, you will oversee day-to-day recruiting activities at our Cartersville, GA, hiring center. Your primary responsibility will be to increase the flow of online applications and in-person visits to the hiring center to fill manufacturing and operations roles. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be an active participant in interview events, networking functions, and career fairs. Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage internal/external hourly job openings for manufacturing facilities across north Georgia and at other sites as assigned.

  • Work closely with hiring managers, HR managers, and HR Reps to gain a clear understanding of position qualifications.

  • Prescreen candidates (face-to-face and via phone), schedule interviews, make offers, oversee the completion of pre-employment activities , and monitor start date rosters.

  • Provide direction to HR offices to ensure that company policies and procedures are followed throughout the pre-hire process.

  • Build and develop relationships with business partners across the Shaw organization and with community organizations.

  • Conduct interview events at off-site and on-site locations. Attend career fairs (at high schools, technical schools, and colleges) and networking events sponsored by local agencies and organizations.

  • Monitor, evaluate, and approve background and reference checks.

  • Develop innovative solutions to acquire new and diverse production and hourly talent.

  • Maintain current and detailed knowledge of company policies, benefits, and other initiatives.

  • Identify candidates for the Department of Labor On-the-Job Training program and coordinate signing up participants.


  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • Experience working at Shaw Industries or previous experience in recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, human resources, or in training is highly desired.

  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is highly desired.

  • Experience with Workday or other applicant tracking software is highly desired.

  • Fluency in Spanish, both oral and written, is desired but not required.

  • Must have the ability to frequently and effectively communicate with applicants, hiring managers, HR partners, and other personnel in person, by phone, by email, virtually, and by other means.

  • Must be self-motivated and proactive with strong decision-making abilities.

  • Experience presenting or communicating to groups or leaders is highly desired.

  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
