Position Overview
SewOn Operator
Responsibilities:
Obtain back log/ line-up sheet from Technician or Supervisor and use it to verify production.
Arrange rolls in sequence.
Make sure carpet is properly aligned on sew-on frame.
Monitor J-Box for sufficient amount to continue operation.
Responsible for maintaining carpet exiting the J-Box to ensure carpet is not folded.
Cut minimal waste off rolls using automatic cutter before sewing rolls together. Sew carpet rolls together with sewing machine.
Operate Sew-on controls to run carpet out of unrolling cradle into J-Box Visually inspect carpet as it is running up into the J-Box.
Keep record of Dye House defects and report to Supervisor.
Enter ticket numbers for rolls to be coated into the computer in the exact sequence they are being sewn in.
Monitor computer for special coating instructions and communicates this information to the coater operator.
