Automation Integration Engineer
This position will manage the supportability, ownership, and oversight of locally deployed automation and control solutions. Additionally, this position will provide tangible value through process improvements identified by process awareness and data analysis.
Collaborate with the plant to determine greatest needs and areas of entitlement.
Design and manage the implementation of capital and process improvement projects. May not only include the controls portion of the project but the electrical power, and mechanical portion as well.
Maintain and enforce corporate electrical standards and code requirements.
Assist with local oversight and long term ownership of corporately managed projects.
Ensure supportability of all automation solutions. This includes management of drawings, documentation, procedures, source code, spare parts, obsolescence awareness, and availability of third party support.
Work with CIM and other Shaw Automation Engineers to share knowledge and leverage resources.
Collaborate with and train plant-level technicians.
High School Diploma/GED and related experience as outlined below. Bachelors Engineering Degree with an Electrical, Control System, Mechatronics emphasis preferred.
Must be able to follow and write basic PLC logic in accordance with Shaw automation standards.
Must be able to install, configure and troubleshoot PLC hardware.
Must be familiar with the operation and application of basic sensing devices such as proximity detectors, visible and infrared detection devices, encoders, etc.
Must be able to install and configure process control software and PC operating systems.
Must be able to make minor programming changes to ancillary equipment such as digital timers, counters, PID loop controllers, etc.
Must be able to install, terminate, and commission AC and DC motor control systems (VFD’s, soft starts and starters).
Must be familiar with the operation and be able to troubleshoot AC and DC motors.
Must be familiar with using test equipment and troubleshooting issues in a real time manufacturing environment.
Must have a general understanding of industrial electrical best practices and regulatory codes including NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E.
Must have a general understanding of single and three-phase power and power distribution.
Must have a general understanding of machine safety and safety systems.
Must be familiar with network theory and be able to troubleshoot ethernet and fieldbus systems.
Should be able to assist with capital and process improvement projects.

Must be able work weekends and holidays as needed.
