Position Overview

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Successful technician trainees understand and maintain all facets of Sulzer/Itema Weaving machines, ensuring that they produce the maximum amount of production and a minimal amount of off-quality.
Incumbent trainees are placed in a training program, lasting up to 48 weeks, which focuses on all aspects of Weaving machine maintenance. Following successful completion of the trainee program, associates are assigned to shifts as full-time Weaver Advanced Technicians.
Adherence to standards and best practice applications acquired through training and work experience.
Learn and grow in the knowledge of maintenance practices and equipment performance, understanding their impact on manufacturing processes and business objectives.
* once training is completed, associates will be placed into an open role and it could be day or night shift *
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Troubleshoot Sulzer/Itema Weaving Machines with quality or efficiency problems.
Communicate with Operators to understand machine issues
Repair mechanical problems on weaving machines and related equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance on weaving equipment
Check and adjust machine settings using precision measurement equipment
Make necessary style changes according to Spec. sheet
Complete records and reports as necessary
Maintain good housekeeping
QUALIFICATIONS:
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience maintaining and working on Sulzer/Itema Weaving Machines in a manufacturing environment.
Capable troubleshooter for escalated problems
Basic reading, writing, and math ability.
Must be capable of learning and performing additional operations.
Must be capable of being trained in current computer systems and software.
Must be able to use various forms, reports, and checklists.
Must be able to bend, squat, and stoop several times a day.
Must be able to stand for 12 hours a day.
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis throughout the day.
Must be able to visualize defects in the product.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Incumbents in this position will be placed in a training cohort for a period of up to 48 weeks, in which trainees learn about all facets of being a technician while gaining experience through substantial hands-on and other practical training.
Must have all OSHA, SAFE, SQS, and plant-specific training.
Training on current plant computer systems and software.
Work Shift
8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
