Extrusion Operator (ZIP)

Position Overview

Responsibilities:

Work safely and follow all safety rules and procedures.

Monitor and periodically inspect panels. Twice per shift completely fill out the quality audit section on the panel performance sheet form.

String panels per procedure.

Doff, label and dress packages per procedure.

Grade and dispense of packages per procedure.

Clean, change and test AET jets per procedure.

Operate sonic cleaner per procedure.

Clean panels downstairs.

Complete assigned routine housekeeping duties.

Keep supplies at panels as needed.

Keep assigned panels, doors and finish pans clean.

Pull routine merge ability samples as needed.

Rewind duties.

Pull lab samples.

Operate pack-out per procedure.

Box scale verification per procedure.

Manage soft waste.

Be very proficient at doffing, grading and panel stringing.

Know parts of a panel and their functions.

Be able to remove and clean lube rolls and trays.

Make up MCJ screens per procedure as necessary.

Keep adequate amount of clean and ready to use YBD's in the area.

Communicate with upstairs operator to reduce excessive waste.

On breakouts remove wrap from rolls, wheels and guides.

If needed, check for defects with rolls, wheels, guides, winders or aspirators.

If maintenance is needed, inform the patroller of any delays and have them take up position.

Wait until the panel is ready to restring before calling the upstairs operator to drop the position.

Follow proper LOTO procedures when changing or removing wheels, finish rolls and when entering a winder.

Prepare returnable trays and pallets for proper credit per procedure.

Complete required safety audit sheets.

Encourage others to work safely.

Requirements:

Manufacturing experience preferred

Capable of working a 12-hour rotating day/night shift (7a - 7p/7p - 7a) schedule.

8 hour, night shift
