Position Overview

Job Description:

The Polymerization Shift Supervisor will lead a group of 6 or more Shaw Associates in the Polymerization area driving Culture, Safety, Training, Operability, and Accountability.

Job Responsibilities:

Drive a safety culture where all incidents/concerns are reported and corrective actions are taken to eliminate hazards in the department. Ensure that the Polymer department is setting the standard for the Plant. Responsible for LOTO and permitting in the Polymerization area.

Lead by example and improve the culture of the area by practicing Shaw’s core values (The Shaw Way).

Increase and share knowledge to the associates in the area. Learn how Nylon 6 is made in the Polymerization department and gain the knowledge and skills necessary to troubleshoot and operate the unit effectively.

Use critical thinking and economic thinking to safely and effectively operate the Polymerization area.

Deliver compelling communication and feedback to hourly associates to drive a superior performance management program for the area. Manage employee performance and drive accountability in the area.

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. College degree is preferred.

At least 3 years working in a Polymer manufacturing role. Previous supervisory experience o relief supervisor experience is preferred.

Must be able to lift over 50 lbs. when required

Must not exceed weight limit of 400 lbs. due to Fall Protection standards

Work Shift

12 hours, night shift
