Position Overview:

The Senior Project Manager will fully manage high-value projects identified as top priority by the Director of Health & Wellness Benefits. The scope of responsibility for this position includes conducting market analysis and benchmarking, preparing proposals, managing ongoing project details and tasks, implementing approved solutions, developing measurements for success, and completing follow-up, as appropriate. Wherever possible, assigned projects will have an anticipated 18-month return on investment. S/he will operate in a very focused manner and will be unavailable for other assignments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects concurrently and be capable of initiating, implementing, and monitoring change; follow-up with project team members to obtain and consolidate project status updates; provide regular project updates as appropriate.

  • Conduct project-related research and benchmarking utilizing both internal and external partners as appropriate. Leverage resources to take advantage of those available to complete work efficiently.

  • Prepare impactful project proposals which deliver a clear, succinct message adjusted to the appropriate audience.

  • Managing ongoing project details and tasks by identifying more critical and less critical activities and tasks and adjusting priorities. Effectively allocate time to complete work and coordinate schedules to avoid conflicts.

  • Implement approved solutions based on successful execution of an action plan aligned with strategic objectives. Develop measurements for success which are objective, actionable, and quantifiable measures of progress and outcomes; track and broadcast progress and accomplishments.

  • Complete project follow-up as appropriate.

Position Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree

  • Limited travel necessary (likely two to four times annually)

  • Self-starter with the ability to operate independently with little supervision

  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions showing good judgment, proclivity to ask for and listen to team feedback, and propensity to action

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a team-oriented environment

  • Able to manage and present projects in a neat and organized manner including conducting meetings in an efficient and engaging manner

  • Effective oral and written communication skills including preparing for and leading team meetings

  • Effectively allocates own time to complete work and coordinates own and others’ schedules to avoid conflicts

  • Exhibits proper time management of assignments and responsibilities

  • Proficient in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive (and/or comparable Microsoft Office tools)

  • High level of confidentiality
