Compliance Training Specialist

Position Overview

The Compliance Training Specialist is responsible for the support, design, development, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of content, assets, and other instructional resources used to meet Shaw’s compliance needs. In addition, the Compliance Training Specialist will ensure the success and effectiveness of training by evaluating and versioning all content, consistent with internal and external guidelines and regulations. This role will work closely with subject matter experts and system administrators to develop a compliance training calendar, ensuring a positive user experience, as well as adhering to both internal and external compliance standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Legal, HR Compliance and Risk Management to ensure all compliance training needs are met

  • Work with stakeholders to create and maintain a company-wide compliance training calendar

  • Publish and archive online or blended learning solutions, assign training curricula, and add and/or retire resources.

  • Develop and update standardized tools and reporting for ongoing access to compliance learning records; generate standard and custom compliance reports

  • Act as Content Librarian, managing all printed and digital compliance content, developer tools and repositories.

  • Maintain comprehensive training record database for compliance and auditing needs

  • Ensure necessary compliance training is completed for newly hired and promoted associates during the onboarding process, by working closely with the Manager of Onboarding.

  • Continuously research compliance training resources to ensure we are delivering the most up to date and accurate content in a precise and concise manner

  • Manage relationship with third party compliance content vendors and facilitate the successful linkage of vendor courses to the Workday LMS.

  • Serves as point of escalation for support issues, which includes interaction with internal stakeholders and compliance content vendors

  • Act as an internal consultant by analyzing compliance completion data and recommend solutions to better deliver, track, and measure training performance to meet organizational objectives.

  • Help facilitate the Corporate Compliance Communication plan.

  • Edit and/or develop customized compliance content as required.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years or more Technical Training Experience, Instructional System Design and/or Adult Education Development. Previous compliance training and Workday Learning Administrator experience is a plus.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects, work independently and collaboratively with a team, while also dealing with multiple groups of stakeholders

  • Knowledge and skills to advise and consult with subject matter experts to ensure delivery of the desired message to the targeted audiences

  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and deliver quality results in a time-sensitive environment

  • Familiarity with Workday and Workday Learning platforms

  • Demonstrable experience designing e-learnings, as well as ILT/VILT trainings and workshops

  • Formal software application certifications are also a plus (i.e. HTML5, Lectora, Adobe eLearning Suite, etc.)

  • Strong communication, writing, design, and project management skills

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced team environment while seeking input from others
