Job Title

Department Manager: Dyeing

Position Overview

Oversee the Continuous Dye Range department at plant 81 with specific consideration to the overall process, productivity, and cost improvement to the production management organization.

Essential Duties:

  • Oversee the dyeing process

  • Administer cost/benefit analysis in support of capital and expense budgets

  • Perform supervisory roles in supervisor’s absence

  • Coach and develop Process Engineer

  • Report dye/chemical inventories weekly

  • Serve on plant QIT

  • Maintain Records Management policies in department

  • Perform other duties as directed by the Production Manager

  • Weekly Review of POVA

  • Execute personnel actions to maintain proper workforce availability and training

  • Support/identify process improvement opportunities within department and Plant

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably BSE)

  • 1-2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently required to speak, look at reports, reach with hands and arms, and use hands to finger, handle or feel

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit

  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs occasionally

  • Work in a normal industrial environment with inherent background noise, dirt, humidity and temperature variations

  • Works in a normal office environment with slight to moderate background noise and temperature variation

Other Requirements:

  • Advanced mathematical skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial and production reports

  • Ability to effectively present information to others

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Safety & Security Requirements

  • This job has the responsibility and authority to report to management any quality and safety problems, and potential problems, that are encountered while performing the job

  • This position has the responsibility of the quality and safety of the employees in his/her department

  • Communicate the request for outside contractors to the Plant Engineer when acting as an initiator/requisitioner for plant maintenance and/or project completion

Work Shift

8 hour, day shift
