Position Overview

The Diversity and Inclusion Director will enable associates to achieve the highest level of performance by creating and maintaining a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture. The strategy will be on talent optimization, leadership skills development, and customer and community engagement. The role will partner, strategize, and influence at all levels of leadership, from executive to front-line. The D&I Director will lead efforts across cross-functional business teams, human resources, and external organizations to evolve the strategy and drive results to advance the practice of inclusive leadership and accelerate business outcomes.


  • Lead the enterprise to evolve mindsets, strategies, and organizational practices to work to and through the 2030 sustainability goal for our talent pipeline to reflect available talent in our communities.

  • Work with business leaders, corporate compliance, human resources business partners, and people analytics to effectively integrate diversity and inclusion strategies into business strategies.

  • Lead efforts to develop programs and tools to support corporate and divisional diversity and inclusion action plans for both the hourly and salaried workforce.

  • Partner with corporate communications to create and maintain effective communication strategies and tools.

  • Actively partner with corporate sustainability to integrate and align diversity and inclusion strategy with sustainability efforts.

  • Enable systemic organizational change by building diversity and inclusion expertise within human resources, business leaders, associate resource groups, and the corporate diversity council.

  • Partner with the talent management team to establish D&I methodology, develop inclusive leadership content, and integrate into talent management strategies (i.e. PX, Workforce Assessment, Succession Planning, Targeted Selection, Learning, and Development, etc.).

  • Oversee the Corporate Diversity Council activities and partner with executive sponsors to ensure enterprise alignment and engagement for diversity and Inclusion.

  • Partner across the enterprise to identify and develop Associate Resource Group (ARG) leaders that will drive alignment to corporate diversity and inclusion initiatives.

  • Partner with regional marketing, community outreach, and corporate philanthropy to build relationships with key organizations that support our inclusion strategy.

  • Partner with talent acquisition to enrich talent pipeline management tactics to build a diverse and inclusive workforce across all leadership levels.

  • Partner with divisional D&I and business leaders to develop strategies to build new, and increase the depth and breadth of existing, diverse customer and business partner relationships.

  • Collaborate with the supplier diversity manager to drive economic diversity and inclusion and build a best in class supplier diversity program.

Position Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have two primary areas of experience. First, the individual will have strong skills and understanding as a diversity, equity, and inclusion practitioner. Second, the individual will be passionate to drive leadership development. In addition, we are seeking an individual with the following education, skills, and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience

  • Demonstrated success implementing diversity and inclusion strategies

  • Proven experience driving transformational change initiatives

  • Broad understanding of utilizing people to transform the business

  • A strong credible leader with proven ability to deliver results

  • Strong analytical and measurement skills

  • Excellent communicator and facilitator
