Divisional Corp Quality Mgr - International

Position Overview

Ensure commercial division quality assurance management with responsibilities to assess, control, and mitigate company risk related to customer satisfaction including but not limited to regulatory compliance, and quality of product and service issues. The scope of these responsibilities applies to both internally manufactured products as well as externally procured products. The key focus for this position will be all products in the commercial division including but not limited to carpet tile, broadloom, resilient, and sundries.

Essential Duties: (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility)

Control, minimize, and mitigate company risk related to customer satisfaction in our International business, with responsibilities including the following:

  • Manage quality assurance responsibilities for commercial products released into and in development for the international market

  • Be a strategic partner in the international new product release process by coordinating quality-related product development activities for all products:

  • Existing product/process changes

  • New product/process introductions

  • Conformance to product certification/compliance requirements

  • Vendor communications and relations

  • International battery testing to applicable testing standards for all product categories

  • Maintain the integrity of the data within the database that stores international product testing data

  • Identify and implement more efficient and secure means of housing international testing data

  • Work with key contributors to make sure appropriate commercial documentation (warranties, installation instructions, etc.) are appropriate for the intended market and are in place prior to product launch

  • Own quality system functionality for the control of internationally marketed or produced products

  • Manage the international certifications process and their requirements to assist sales, marketing, and category management in ensuring conformance to those requirements

  • Own and manage the process for international product testing at the Shaw Central Lab as well as domestic and international outside testing labs

  • Serve as the Divisional Quality Manager for new international manufacturing plants providing support for Quality Management System implementation and guidance on quality-related activities

  • Ensure that proper standards exist to provide the necessary input for the production of products meeting international customer requirements.

  • Partner with Financial Services to troubleshoot and resolve commercial claims and recommend appropriate follow-up actions Review finished product and finished product standards whenever required Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure correct data gathering and vendor chargebacks Manage the Quarterly Executive Audit Process for sourced resilient and internationally-produced carpet Partner with Corporate Sourcing in the vendor approval process for all International procured products to include ownership of the qualification process for vendor quality Interface with international testing laboratories to ensure changes to standards are understood by internal stakeholders and documented in our systems Perform other duties as assigned

    Other Duties:

  • Engage and leverage the Performance Experience (PX) journey.

  • Regularly report out to Divisional leadership both formally and informally.

    Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 4-year bachelor's degree and 5 years of flooring manufacturing management experience

  • Certified or to become certified as an SMS Lead Auditor

  • Certified LSS Black Belt preferred

Work Shift

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
