Event Coordinator
Position Overview
The Event Coordinator will assist the Senior Manager, Residential Event Experience to make Shaw events consistently efficient, cost-effective, and memorable. The ideal candidate is comfortable at managing communications with vendors, attendees, speakers, and stakeholders.
This person will have an innate curiosity and drive to find solutions that are attainable.
This person will be organized and detail-oriented, able to work with various team members fluidly, and have excellent PowerPoint creation and presentation skills.
Responsibilities:
Support planning and execution of multiple Residential events each year
Communication of timelines and budgets to executors and stakeholders
Develop a complete understanding of the requirements for every event
Research vendors and make selections based on their creativity, quality, and cost
Develop content for event materials and work with marketing managers and creative team to produce
Handle day-to-day administration of events and programs, including order placements, vendor monitoring, and issues resolution
Collaborate with Corporate Events to ensure seamless execution of travel planning, restaurant reservations, attendee participation, registration counts, RSVP tracking
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in event planning or event coordination in a corporate environment
Experience working with colleagues in graphic design, sales, marketing, and communications
Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a customer-service mindset
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Team player with no issues rolling up your sleeves to help each other
Ability to respond to changing needs and shifting priorities
Ability to work varied hours and a flexible schedule
