Industrial Maintenance Trainer - Mechanical
This position will be responsible for developing and delivering training to Shaw’s existing Industrial Maintenance Mechanic associates to elevate technical job skills and knowledge. The primary responsibilities will include facilitating training in the areas of industrial mechanical skills and procedures, including hand/power/shop tools, safety & usage, hoisting/rigging, welding, metal fabrication, pumping systems, piping/plumbing, power transmission, equipment installation and maintenance, pneumatics, hydraulics, troubleshooting, etc. Candidates should be current in commercial and industrial maintenance standards and possess a strong background in mechanical technology.
Conduct classroom and on-the-job training sessions to teach and demonstrate principles, techniques, procedures, and/or methods of designated subjects. Design/Develop instructional materials and curriculum in collaboration with the Industrial Maintenance Training Manager. Teach all aspects of mechanical technology as related to local industry and as required for Shaw customization. Demonstrate or explain assembly, proper maintenance procedures, and/or use of equipment and tools. Administer written and/or hands-on performance assessments in order to measure progress, and to evaluate training effectiveness. Demonstrate safe work practices in the operation and use of tools and equipment within a training environment. Observe and evaluate students' work to determine progress, provide feedback, and make suggestions for improvement . Travel required to provide training throughout the region as needed. May be required to teach evening/off-shifts or distance education classes from time to time. Manage a trainee class of 6-12 associates for 6-12 months, including teaching, coaching, and other managerial duties.

4-year degree in vocational, technical, or engineering field or 5 years of mechanical experience in an industrial technical field with advanced knowledge of mechanical systems
Strong knowledge, skills, and demonstrated competence in technical vocational areas of mechanical maintenance
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including making presentations
Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office software, Google applications
Working various shifts as needed
Travel to outlying locations may be required.
Previous adult training experience in a classroom/lab environment
Previous experience managing or supervising associates
Bilingual (Spanish) ability preferred
8 hour, day shift
