Innovation Project Manager

Position Overview

The Innovation Project Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing innovation projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. The Project manager will plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way; all done within the confines of the goals and vision of Shaw’s Innovation program. The Project Manager will apply project tools and techniques in order to manage project activities, including establishing clear and achievable objectives, planning and directing people to reach objectives while balancing competing demands for intended outcomes, scope, time, and cost, and adapting to different concerns and expectations of stakeholders.

  • Identify the project objectives as part of the planning phase with the customer/stakeholder, and ensure that project resources are properly introduced and aligned to meet those objectives.

  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress. Manage, monitor, and maintain the project scope, requirements, objectives, deliverables, task timeline, cost and required staff/resources

  • Utilize project management best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution

  • Track key project milestones and adjust project plans and/or resources to meet commitments or expectations

  • Coordinate and conduct communication with all areas of the enterprise impacted by the scope, budget, schedule, and resources of the work effort being managed.

  • Partner with stakeholders and Innovation leadership to identify and prioritize opportunities to achieve goals

  • Propose and manage both internal and external resources to contribute to projects as needed to bring results

  • Conduct post project analysis to identify lessons learned

Minimum Required Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, engineering or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in project management

  • Experience utilizing a variety of project management approaches including waterfall and agile methodologies

  • Experience with project management software

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification preferred

Work Shift

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
