Manager, Residential Global Supply Development

Position Overview

Shaw’s Outsourced Global Sourcing organization is relied upon to provide timely, targeted product sourcing solutions that create a sustainable competitive advantage. We do this through collaborative decision making that maximizes profitability, speed to market, and the delivery of quality products to our customers. Within the global sourcing organization, the Residential Global Supply Development Manager plays a critical role influencing the residential category business strategy through the discovery, qualification, and execution of new products, transitions, and supply options.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understands and continuous discovery of future global sources of supply

  • Review market research including category, competitor, and trend information to make appropriate buying and sourcing decisions.

  • Organized management of market landscape tracking, including supplier profiles, quotes database, and relevant changes.

  • Define, influence, and implement category sourcing strategies, including selection criteria development, executing RFQs/RFPs, and driving supplier selection in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Establish 3+ year strategic roadmap in support of business objectives for the assigned categories

  • Executes new supplier contracts, including price negotiations and business terms

  • Deliver annual budgeted cost savings for the assigned spend categories across the enterprise.

  • Vendor qualification and ongoing capacity management

  • Reports product cost conditions to senior management

  • Collaborates with multiple internal functions to ensure successful product launches:

  • Product Development to create accurate product specifications (“Blueprints”)

  • Category Management to select and qualify suppliers and products

  • Technical / Quality on initial product acceptance and to resolve any product quality issues

  • Sustainability to ensure compliance with applicable government regulations

  • Planning to ensure products are ordered and available to meet business needs

  • Internal Manufacturing to support on-going external supply needs, if needed.

Requirements:

  • 4 year degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Logistics, Inventory, or Engineering

  • Business and financial acumen

OR

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 5 years of sourcing and procurement experience (including negotiating experience) with similar categories of spend, in an organization of similar size and scope

  • Global business and financial acumen

  • Ability to travel internationally, as needed
