Master Planner - Carpet and Finished Yarn - Commercial Tile and Broadloom HYBRID

Position Overview

The Master Planner is responsible for translating the S&OP Demand plan into a Carpet and Finished Yarn inventory plan for the Commercial Tile and/or Commercial Broadloom Value Stream. This role will lead and direct the supply planning process across multiple carpet and yarn twist/heatset manufacturing facilities, including strategic and tactical decision-making to align future supply with forecasted demand; align volume and mix within capacity constraints. This role will drive inventory planning to meet our customer’s service requirements and corporate inventory targets; utilizing advanced planning tools and analytics to continuously meet aggressive performance targets.


  • Utilize advanced planning tools and solvers (within the OMP Integrated Planning tool) to plan carpet and finished yarn inventories that support a given Value Stream.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive time phased, integrated carpet and yarn supply plan that optimizes manufacturing capacities and meets desired customer service expectations (OTIF, Fill Rate).

  • Regularly evaluate and modify the inventory supply plan to drive future production of both carpet and finished yarn within the Value Stream.

  • Make key decisions and direct prioritization to solve capacity constrained conflicts across the yarn and carpet supply chain.

  • Develop and maintain key metrics and departmental KPIs and objectives.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Customer Service, Sales, and Extrusion Planning to ensure inventory plans meet customer needs and expectations.


  • Bachelor Degree required and 3+ years of production planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations

  • Proven experience using data analytics to solve complex problems

  • Proven ability to work across business units to drive results

  • Strong analytical acumen, ability to think critically at tactical and strategic levels

  • Demonstrate strong project management skills that balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines.

  • Strong sense of urgency and takes an active role in decision making and problem solving

  • Ability to communicate with complex information in a simple and clear manner.


  • Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain concentration preferred

  • CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) certification

  • Green and/or Blackbelt trained

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
