Position Overview

Shaw Chem Operations Leader

The ShawChem Operations Leader is responsible for leading the daily efforts of the team prioritizing safety of the associates, quality of the products, and health of the business. The Operations Leader will be responsible for managing a chemical business with an eight-figure annual turnover, including raw material procurement, order fulfilment, production, logistics, and compliance.

Duties:

Ensure a safe work environment in ShawChem for all associates at all times. Lead the daily operations activities (safety/quality/productivity) of ShawChem. Directly supervise hourly associates in the department including time/pay approval and disciplinary actions Ensure training and compliance requirements are met for all ShawChem associates. Manage the financial aspects of the business including maintaining raw material inventories and processing yield data. Develop systems to ensure material management/utilization and inventory/material control.

This includes ordering/receiving/inventorying chemicals and finished products.

Follow Raw Material Substitution Request process for new materials

Assist with budget for the department and cost sheets for products. Serve as liaison between ShawChem and SS/HS Manufacturing. Ensure Key Performance Metrics for ShawChem are met.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of salaried leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Previous experience working with or handling chemicals

  • Previous experience in a laboratory setting preferred

  • Previous logistics experience preferred.

Work Shift

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
