Strategic Communications Director
The strategic communications director has responsibility for strategically executing communications to keep stakeholders engaged, connected and informed. The role includes building relationships, having strategic influence and creating consistent messaging to strengthen associate and stakeholder engagement, enhance the Shaw brand and drive change throughout the enterprise.
Build and maintain trusting relationships with company leaders and other communications stakeholders and contributors
Develop internal communication strategy and drive execution of communications related to key corporate and departmental/divisional initiatives, supporting business strategies and promoting awareness, understanding and adoption of company priorities and values
Develop external communication strategy and drive execution of communications related to Shaw’s corporate brand and community involvement, supporting recruitment marketing and other external initiatives
Collaborate on marketing strategy and/or drive execution of marketing initiatives related to enterprise product platforms or other Shaw programs and services
Develop strong understanding of departmental/divisional and corporate goals and initiatives, and ensures they are integrated into all applicable internal and external communications and related marketing initiatives
Provide internal communications recommendations and support for major organizational change and initiatives
Contribute to strategy and execution of associate communications to drive engagement, motivation, connectivity and awareness
Contribute to strategic communications requirements for senior and executive leaders, including presentation development, talk tracks, etc.
Continuously strive to increase knowledge of company operations, history, products, brands, policies and procedures
Four-year college degree.
5-7 years experience in business , marketing or communications field.
Proven experience with strategic planning, messaging strategy, corporate communications, public relations, brand development, marketing strategy, content development, writing, project management, presentation development.
Ability to connect individual communications activities or products to higher-level strategies and goals.
Ability to simplify complex ideas into simple, easy to communicate messages to communicate business strategies and operational priorities.
Excellent problem solver with good attention to detail and ability to think strategically.
Adaptable to a dynamic work environment and able to implement alternate solutions.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and possess good organizational skills.
Strong organization and time management skills to prioritize and manage a high volume of detailed work with conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proven experience in working with senior and executive leaders
Strong business acumen.
