Position Overview
POSITION OVERVIEW
Looking for an enthusiastic self-starter to join the Residential Communications team as a summer intern to learn, create, and participate in implementing communications for internal and external audiences at Shaw.
The intern will take direction from the Sr. Director of Strategic Communications, but also work very closely with the Communications Manager, Graphic Design, Corporate Communications and Business Leaders in this business unit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, write, edit, and proofread a variety of communications such broadcast emails, newsletter content, presentation decks, videos, and training material for Shaw associates and Shaw customers.
Plan and execute the deployment of content to internal and external audiences (broadcast emails, town halls, etc.)
Track and monitor key communications metrics
Foster relationships with key internal and external team members and influencers.
Work with a wide variety of internal partners to develop communication plans and tactics that support strategic initiatives
Help facilitate in the planning and coordination of large in-person and virtual events.
REQUIREMENTS
In pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, marketing/business, or related field
Strong writing, proofreading, communication, and interpersonal skills
Organized and self-motivated
Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strategic thinking
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and meet required deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Team collaboration and leadership skills
Computer proficiency in M365, internet research, etc.
