Position Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to play a leadership/strategic role in Shaw’s early career recruiting and development programs. In this role, you will create the strategy and lead the team that selects entry-level talent for our manufacturing operations, national sales and global supply chain organizations. You will be responsible for leading college recruiting efforts by executing the recruiting strategy to identify and attract talent from the identified college programs and through other professional organizations. It will be essential for you to attend the college career fairs, as well as leverage strategic business partners to represent Shaw in campus and early career recruiting activities. You will play a critical role in the selection of talent for both of our Operations Management Trainee (OMT) and Co-Op programs. Success can be found in this role by executing a targeted recruitment strategy both on and off college campuses to identify, attract and retain diverse, top entry-level talent for Shaw. Success in this role will be measured in the quality of talent selected and developed through these programs. You will develop recruitment strategies for OMTs, interns and co-ops that are specifically tailored to the business and its current state while proactively building a strong entry-level talent pipeline for our sales, supply chain and manufacturing operations training programs.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the leaders of supply chain, sales and manufacturing operations divisions to create world-class development programs for early career associates.

  • Must be able to lead direct report(s) and must work across the enterprise to strategically influence and collaborate with business and human resource leaders.

  • Work with supply chain, manufacturing operations, and human resources departments to establish recruiting strategies for college graduates and co-ops that align with Shaw’s talent model and future business needs.

  • Partner with business units to identify the type of degrees, skills, and technologies needed across the enterprise. Leverage understanding of the business needs to partner with colleges and target the appropriate entry-level talent to pipeline into Shaw.

  • Create an attraction strategy for diverse, early career talent from the right schools, organizations & associations, in alignment with the overall Diversity Recruiting Strategy.

  • Partner with supervisors of early career associates across the company to ensure that they are assigned challenging work, get effective feedback on performance and develop skills needed to qualify for full-time employment at Shaw.

  • Work with human resources, business leaders, and OMTs to oversee the development of early career associates for the first 36 months in their career.

  • Collaborate with talent management, business partners, and human resources to analyze the programs and recruitment analytics to determine the effectiveness of the current strategy and lead efforts to make needed adjustments at the appropriate time.

  • Responsible for identifying colleges that Shaw will recruit early career talent from and must establish, develop, and maintain relationships with key faculty and staff at targeted institutions.

  • 4-year degree

  • 1+ plus years of recruiting/university relations/HR experience

  • Proven track record of creating strong on-campus relationships with diverse groups and faculty.

  • Ability to work with and communicate effectively to an array of leaders at different levels across the enterprise.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 20-30%, at key times of the year.

  • Exhibits excellent organizational and data tracking skills. Able to use recruiting data to create insight that enables the right actions to support the early career strategy and direction.

  • Proven ability to lead, develop, own and drive processes and programs, making effective decisions with minimal supervision.
