Pro Shop Business Developer - Houston , Texas

Position Overview

This associate will be responsible for running the day to day operations of the flooring retail store that is located within the Houston redistribution center.

Responsibilities include interacting with customers / selling products, processing sales transactions, managing inventory, returns and marketing products.

  • Work with RDC staff conducting inventory management - cycle inventory, demand planning, stocking shelves, processing returns

  • Perform inventory scans

  • Maintain inventory records

  • Search for/research lost or misplaced orders or products

  • Pull cancelled orders and stop shipment request product from staging locations and place in the RA area for processing

  • Inventorying claims to ensure the correct material is to be processed

  • Assist with separating stocking goods returned from non-stocking goods to be sent back to the mill

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager

  • Must help handle pad and inventory as needed

  • Must perform duties of LTO or LTO - Order Builder as needed

  • Must help keep shipping area clean and organized

  • Must be able to perform all the job functions as LTO

  • Place/retrieve product to/from location

  • Use RF unit to determine destination for product

  • Take lift truck to battery / charging station for as needed

  • Raise/Lower dock plate

  • Adhere to all company and facility safety guidelines.

  • Must be able to perform all the job functions as LTO II - Order Builder

  • Utilize the hard surface pull task system to retrieve the correct material that has to pull from locations.

  • Transport product on pallets via forklift to/from location.

  • Complete paperwork as required.

  • Wrap materials prepared to pallets.

  • Scheduling FedEx orders

  • Working with vendors

  • Working with/training Sales

  • Working with/training customers

  • Manage flow of all priority orders and/or delayed shipments

  • Creating and implementing promotions based on supply and demand analysis

  • Managing the shrink/scrap process for all product types

  • Must be able to track aged products to ensure efficient use of storage locations

  • Once Pro Shop Manager approves product knowledge, the role will flex out into the field a few days per week to help train/push sales in Texas or where the [ totalworx ] business need is.


  • Must be able to read and write numbers in English

  • Must be able to communicate in writing and verbally

  • Must be able to use computer and programs associated with job requirements

  • Must be able to record, analyze, comprehend, and interpret data

  • Must be able to meet frequent deadlines

  • Must have high school diploma or GED

  • Previous flooring and or Sundry experience preferred

  • 4 year degree and 1+ year of Lead/Supervisory experience in retail or High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of previous Lead /Supervisory experience in retail

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written are required

  • Candidate must have good computer skills including but not limited to Excel, Word and other software programs.

  • Must be self-motivated and results oriented

  • Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization and work with little supervision and exercise good judgment
