Burkle Technician
Shaw Industries is looking to hire and train a Burkle Technician who will play an important role in the manufacture and distribution of a variety of flooring solutions for our residential and commercial customers. We are looking for individuals who are motivated, interested in learning various skills, and who enjoy problem solving.
We are currently looking to fill rotating night shift openings. No prior manufacturing experience is necessary. Training is provided for all entry-level roles.

Purpose:
To run the Burkle line efficient and safe with the maximum amount of production and a minimal amount of off-quality. Technician will control speeds of equipment, dictate pace of production, how much gloss is used and all quality measures. Position will also be a resource for the lamination line.
Responsibilities:
Set-up and shut down of coating and annealing equipment.
Making machine/process adjustments on line and on computer.
Documenting process settings in the computer.
Achieving set quality standards.
Line audits to determine UV lamp outputs, coating and temperatures.
Monitoring parameters such as gloss and coating weights.
Visual inspections of products for defects and grading.
Operating a crane and managing the chemical tank farm to include drums and totes.
Operating quality measurement tools.
Calibration of oven temperatures and coating weights.
Operating the conveyor system for the Burkle line.
Direct LTO’s of material to pull and when to pull it.
Trouble shooting quality, production, and equipment concerns.
Qualifications:
Must be a team player
Take an active role in committees.
Must have the ability to be cross trained for other jobs.
Must be able to bend, squat, and stoop several times a day.
Must be able to stand for 8 – 12 hours a day.
Must be able to climb stairs several times through the day.
Must be able to assist in lifting up to 75 lbs. several times a day.
Must be able to lift 35-50 lbs. on a regular basis throughout the day.
