Industrial Engineering Manager

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is looking for an Industrial Engineering Manager to o versee the Industrial Engineering Department at Plant RP, RR & NC with specific consideration to safety, improving the overall process, productivity, and cost improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts to optimize manufacturing processes, workflows, and systems to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance.

  • Design or redesign workstations, layouts, and facilities to optimize ergonomics, safety, and efficiency.

  • Perform thorough cost-benefit analysis to evaluate the return on investment for proposed Capital and Expense Projects . Ensure all projects align with the business objectives and minimize risk.

  • Conduct financial analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction and provide guidance for operational decisions.

  • Provide costing for new products, formulations, and processes.

  • Work with the management team to charter/report cost improvement projects and challenge when necessary.

  • Lead the operational budget process by preparing labor budgets, expense sheets, production standards, and BOM/material specs.

  • Work with plant accountant to ensure accuracy of POVAs and variance projections on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis.

  • Manage plant assets by ensuring timely and accurate transfers and retirements. Perform audits as needed.

  • Ensure accuracy of goods by overseeing regular inventories of raw materials, WIP, and packaging materials.

  • Plan and allocate resources, including manpower , equipment, and materials, to support business goals while minimizing costs.

  • Work with plant and corporate technical to ensure that approved spec changes are updated in USF2 and product cost systems.

  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to implement quality control measures and ensure that processes meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead and develop a team of Industrial engineers, providing guidance, support, and coaching to grow their skills and capabilities. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.

    Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline

  • Ability to read, analyze, manipulate, and interpret complex data sets and solve complex problems

  • Strong communication , facilitation, project management skills

  • Manufacturing experience preferred

  • Hard Surface manufacturing experience preferred

  • 2+ years management/leadership experience preferred

  • Operating knowledge of Shaw systems or demonstrated ability to learn.
