Position Overview
POSITION OBJECTIVE: To become and function as an expert maintenance employee for a designated Pressing, Milling, and/or Finishing line. Position will also install and maintain various types of automated controls, instruments, and associated equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
This is a multi-craft position requiring both electrical and mechanical knowledge.
This position will take ownership of production line equipment in the plant and be required to become the expert on that equipment.
Responding to trouble calls from production or maintenance departments.
Troubleshooting, repairing, cleaning, calibrating, adjusting and inspecting instruments, meters, and control systems.
Must have knowledge of control systems and hydraulics.
Installing and wire AC/DC drives.
Programming complex inverter programs for an application.
Designing a power distribution system for switchgear.
Troubleshooting PC systems.
Designing, programming, tuning and troubleshooting PID controllers for an application.
Responsible for following safe work practices per the National Electrical Code.
Must have experience with cutting torches, plasma cutters, MIG welding, TIG welding and stick welding.
Must perform repairs on commonly used equipment in plant such as pumps, valves, compressors, drive units, gear reducers, hydraulic cylinders, bearings, etc.
Must be able to use common methods of rigging and handling heavy machines and materials in a safe manner.
Other experience with hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and electrical systems will be considered.
Must be able to perform in a team-oriented environment consisting of maintenance and production personnel.
Will be required to perform routine PM’s on equipment using Shaw TPM system.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Able to work from both written instructions and/or diagrams. Able to assist and other electricians in their training.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to stand on feet for entire 8-10 hour shift except for breaks and lunch.
Must be able to walk through plant several times a day, bend, reach above head, and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform tasks requiring hand and finger dexterity.
Must be able to climb stairs several times each day.
Must be able to withstand changes in temperature and humidity.
Must be able to work in small areas using upper and lower body in twisting, bending, stooping, and squatting positions daily.
Must be able to read, comprehend, and analyze data.
Must be able to read, write, and comprehend instructions, graphs, diagrams, charts, and all other related information.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Associates Degree in electronics or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum as Technician III or equivalent.
An electrical certificate or equivalent experience required.
Siemens S& PLC programming
Experience with SEW, Dan Foss and Lenze, Drives, Inverters and Soft Starts.
Must have experience with complex Hydraulics control systems, (electrical and mechanical)
Must meet all other requirements for Class A Mechanic.
Must be able to work in confined spaces.
Must possess good problem solving and communication skills.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
All related training as required by Maintenance Manager
Must have all OSHA, SAFE, SQS, and plant specific training.
On the job training for OEM specific needs
Must be willing to attend OEM training classes required by plant
Computer training on word processing, drives, PLC’s, and Windows based applications.
TOOL, EQUIPMENT, & MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Basic hand tools for electricians, conduit bender, pipe threader.
Blueprints, schematics, and sketches.
Drill press, band saw, hand tools and power tools such as grinder, vise, pipe wrench, hammers and wrenches.
All PPE listed on JHA
SAFETY & SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:
Must comply with all required OSHA, SAFE, and plant specific safety rules and regulations.

Work Shift
12 Hr rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Act Calendar, shift starts PM, days change only
