Position Overview

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Effectively coordinate and execute the Plant HW PdM program in order to improve and optimize the reliability the plant’s production and infrastructure equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility):

  1. Take readings and measurements, document findings, build and maintain databases, develop baselines, interpret results, create and execute corrective work orders and optimize PM’s and PdM’s.

  2. Perform ultrasonic testing, infrared thermography, oil analysis, lubrication and impedance/conductivity testing as appropriate to the specific equipment. 3. Attend extensive offsite training on use of PdM equipment and how to analysis results

  3. Train technicians and RPT/EIT members on predictive maintenance fundamentals.

  4. Perform precision alignment on belts and shafts utilizing precision alignment tools.

  5. Train maintenance teammates on alignment techniques

  6. Create and maintain spreadsheets and graphs.

  7. Present information to management

  8. Fill in for shift maintenance personnel as required

  9. Maintain the integrity and security of an array of sensitive and technical tools.

  10. Perform job duties in a safe manner

  11. Work nights, weekends and holidays as necessary to keep program on schedule

  12. Work with production department to schedule equipment availability.

  13. Communicate effectively with management to adequately address findings in a timely manner

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, & responsibility):

  1. Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Engineer.

  2. Active participate in various committees. Maintain a clean work area

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Able to sit, stand or walk eight to twelve hours a day

  2. Able to bend, stoop, squat, lift, climb ladders and reach occasionally

    1. Able to lift/carry packages weighing up to seventy five pounds occasionally.

    2. Able to wear OSHA and NFPA required PPE, including a 40-cal arc-flash protective suit for extended periods.

    3. Able to operate highly technical equipment and analyze results with include: the accurate reading of multi-color graphs and screens, discernment of colors

    4. Able to listen for and interpret noise anomalies of varying pitch or magnitude

    5. Able to make visual judgments of both a quantitative and qualitative nature at distances from six inches to twenty-five feet in varying environmental conditions.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High school education, GED or its equivalent

  2. Must have good interpersonal, communication, leadership and organizational skills

  3. Must be able to work with close supervision

  4. Computer skills with Windows XP/7, Microsoft Office and MP2/EZ Entry

  5. Experience with AutoCad, RS500/5000 and desktop publishing.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  1. All related training as required by Maintenance Manager

  2. Must have all OSHA, SAFE, SMS, and plant specific training.

  3. Lockout/Tagout training

  4. Powered Industrial Truck training

TOOL, EQUIPMENT & MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Basic hand tools for electricians, conduit bender, pipe threader.

  2. Blueprints, schematics, and sketches.

  3. Drill press, band saw, hand tools and power tools such as grinder, vise, pipe wrench, hammers and wrenches.

  4. All PPE listed on JHA

SAFETY & SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Comply with all Corporate & Plant Safety Rules and Guidelines.

  2. Be aware of and alert to all safety hazards within the facility. (i.e. Lift Truck traffic)

Work Shift

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
