Machine Operator- Finishing Rollup 2nd Shift (Santa Fe Springs, CA)

Position Overview


Operate the Roll-Up equipment in an efficient manner in order to ensure continuous production.

Essential Duties:

  • Operate roll-up line using the console controls.

  • Process scrap and Q.C. samples as directed by inspectors in Cofi/Shopflex cut plan.

  • Transact roll cuts and follow instructions in shop order, defined by Scheduling.

  • Change tapes and follow safety LOTO procedures.

  • Bale waste following Baler Procedure.

  • Keep work area clean.

  • Communicate to supervisor and lead any problems with equipment to try to avoid line stops at all times.

Job Requirements:

  • Be able to read, understand and execute instructions from shop orders provided in English language

  • Capable to operate all controls and gauges on the console.

  • Must be able to read, understand, and discuss in English product or production information which might include disposition, special cut requirements or other pertinent information.

  • Familiar with basic use of computers and capable to follow Cofi/Shopflex cut plan.

  • Ability to work overtime as needed, including weekends.

  • Follow Lockout Tag out requirements based on Cal OSHA and Shaw Safe Program.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent: Climb, depth perception, handle, hear, manual dexterity, lift 15-20 lbs., reach, sit, stand, stoop, and walk.

  • Use personal protective equipment.

  • Occasional: Balance, crawl, crouch, grasp, kneel, and speak.

  • Required: Close vision, and be able to differentiate color, and texture.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Work in a general industrial environment.

  • Conditions: background noise, dirt, oil, humidity, temperature variations.

  • Work near moving mechanical parts

Pay Rate: $16.71/hour

Work Shift

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts PM
