Shaw Industries Inc EHS Manager in Savannah, Georgia
Join our team as the EHS Manager for our Port Wentworth facilities. The EHS Manager will manage the safety, environmental, and training functions at the plant level and assist with Corporate-wide programs as needed. Ensure that the facility complies with federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations and all Shaw policies, procedures and best practices.
EHS Manager Essential Duties:
Develop and implement all plant specific EHS elements that relate to the Shaw Management System (SMS) within the facility. Lead system audits to monitor conformance to requirements and to drive continuous improvement.
Develop, manage, and take ownership of all SAFE system and safety compliance related elements that are applicable to the facility. Create safety programs for the facility that are consistent with corporate programs and systems. Ensure that all associate training is provided to meet SAFE and OSHA requirements.
Champion, coach and promote the Safety Recognition program. Manage the performance of safety and monitor metrics to ensure facility and management participation.
Serve as the liaison between facility management, EHS Divisional Director and Corporate Risk Management personnel to ensure effective EHS programs are in place and that all necessary training is being conducted.
Ensure that the facilitation of companywide training programs is completed as necessary. Programs may relate EHS, SMS, HR issues, etc.
Supervise and train facility training staff as necessary.
Serve as the site expert on Incident Investigations related to associate injuries, near misses, chemical incidents, property damage, etc.
Become a proficient user of the Risk Management Incident System (Cority). Train facility personnel as needed to enter incident data. Monitor as necessary to ensure CAPAs are completed, and all data has been entered.
Serve as site administrator for the HSI SDS system. Ensure that facility SDS are updated in the system. Champion the site chemical approval process within the system.
Develop a working knowledge of the Shaw Environmental Handbook. Develop, manage and take ownership of environmental programs as assigned by facility management.
Conduct routine EHS and system audits to ensure compliance and support continuous improvement. Report any concerns to appropriate facility and divisional resources.
Attend facility staff meetings and maintain open communications with facility management and EHS Divisional Director resources related to facility EHS performance and efforts.
Supervise the maintenance of required records of all training using Peoplesoft, Workday, and training files.
Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
Serve as the key resource for facility EHS matters.
Must possess excellent presentation and communications skills.
Must be capable of managing multiple projects, ensure successful completion of business objectives and meet project deadlines.

Must be able to view computer screen for up to 8 hours per day.
Having the ability to enter information using a computer keyboard for up to 8 hours per day is essential.
Standing or sitting for extended periods of time.
Four-year college degree.
3+ Years experience in EHS leadership role
Be self-motivated and possess good organizational skills.
Be able to meet deadlines through effective time management skills.
Proficiency to operate in a PC, windows based, environment; must have knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams)
Must have good presentation skills and work well in front of large groups.
