Position Overview

2. Perform all job duties using safe work methods. 3. Comply with Corporate Absenteeism and Tardiness Policy. 4. Work normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times. Works overtime as required. 5. Comply with all environmental procedures and programs. 6. Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor. 7. As an inspector, the following must be acknowledged and followed: a. At beginning of shift, obtain and distribute tube labels b. Inspect all packages. c. Pack yarn. d. Keep supply of dividers staged at all times in staging area. e. Keep inspection table clean and free of unneeded items. f. Keep Q-1 buggy, tube reclaim buggy, boxes and trash cans placed neatly in staging area. g. Must know PET greige and solution-dyed product requirement in Bay C. h. Must know package clean off procedure. i. Report all nonconformance to your supervisor and technician. 8. Prior to shift, as operator, the following tasks must be acquired or performed: a. Obtain paperwork from supervisor’s office. b. Compare current labels with Color Certification Form. c. Check threadpath alignment. 9. Operator needs knowledge of the following: a. Must be able to identify and explain function in detail of all exterior controls b. Must know procedure if he/she finds a nonconformance to procedure or quality. c. Must know what the process specification is and its location. d. Must be familiar with all alarms. e. Must know string up and thread path alignment procedure. 10. As operator, during the shift: a. Keep machine running and produce as much quality yarn as possible (see Thread Up Procedure b. Remove packages from machine as doffed and place label inside tube on opposite end of transfer tail. The inside packages are odd numbers starting with one on Position 1 and all outside packages are numbered evenly. Ensure all labels are rubbed evenly inside each package to ensure no labels fall out. c. Notify mechanic of any runnability problems. d. Check threadpath alignment and for wraps on godets periodically; make necessary adjustment and pull any wraps off godets. If yarn has been influenced enough to cause quality problems, package(s) need(s) to be doffed and put into tube reclaim. e. Keep machine and immediate area clean at all times. f. Make sure aspirators are off when not in use. g. If color change occurs, discard all old labels from the line and remove from tubes. Obtain new labels for next lot. h. Keep all small tube reclaim packages burnt off that will not wind off (tuftable). i. Operator thread up position from hole to winder in 2.15 seconds. 11. As operator, at end of each shift: a. Make sure machine and surroundings including overhead is clean for oncoming operators. b. Make sure all paperwork is completed and turned in to supervisor. c. Communicate with oncoming operators and notify him/her of any problems. 12. Other duties: a. Assist mechanic when needed. b. Notify supervisor of any unsafe conditions.

Non-Essential Duties (considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):

1. Assists other Extrusion department personnel as needed.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to sit, stand, or walk for eight (8) to twelve 12) hours. 2. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, lift, carry, and reach occasionally. 3. Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds frequently. 4. Ability to pass Munsell color test with score of 60 or better. 5. Ability to climb up to three (3) flights of stairs every two (2) hours.
