Heatset Operator C Shift (Night shift)

Position Overview

.

To operate the Superba machines (Creel assignment, Winder assignment and/or Relief Assignment).

Essential Duties (considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):

Complies with procedures found in Job Requirement Book. Performs all job duties using safe work methods. Complies with Corporate Absenteeism and Tardiness Policy. Works normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times. Works overtime as required. Comply with all environmental procedures and programs. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Creel Assignment:

Check to ensure the correct paperwork is on the tunnel. Perform creeler operator checks. Creel in packages. Inspect Yarn for Quality Defects. Perform lot changes. Housekeeping duties for creel area Blow whistles for operator and/or technician assistance. Respond to out of spec conditions

Winder Assignment:

Communicate between Operators. Patrol Assignment. Properly obtain tubes. Maintain labels. Perform Winder Operator checks. Inspecting and Packing Out (RQ5263 (http://hqms/doc.asp?dn=22-RQ5263) ). Perform doff work. Repair breaks as necessary. Perform housekeeping duties. Blow whistles for operator assistance or technician assistance. Respond to out of spec conditions.

Relief Assignment:

Communicate with Supervisor at shift changes. Confirm accuracy of Heatset Line-Up Sheet (Schedule). Relieve operators at scheduled break times Perform housekeeping duties. Gather and organize all paperwork and give to the Supervisor. Blow whistles for operator assistance or technician assistance. Respond to out of spec conditions.

Non-Essential Duties (considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):

1. Assists other Heatset department personnel as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, or walk for twelve (12) hours. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, climb up and down steps (Catwalk), lift, carry, and reach occasionally. Ability to lift packages weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds occasionally. Ability to distinguish between colors. Ability to reach 82 inches.

Other Requirements:

High school education or its equivalent preferred. Must possess good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Actively participates in the Quality P.R.I.D.E. Process. Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.

Training Requirements:

Must complete orientation training session. Must complete job requirements training as defined in the training procedures. Must complete EQA/Pride Training. Must complete Quality System Training. Must complete MSDS/Chemical Right To Know Training. Must complete Diversity Training.

Tools, Equipment, & Material Requirements:

Responsible for safety equipment issued including safety glasses and earplugs. Responsible for materials and supplies issued. Responsible for equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks.

Safety & Security Requirements:

Must maintain a safe and clean work area at all times. Must report any unsafe conditions to supervision. Must report all accidents no matter how slight to supervision immediately. Must wear personal protective equipment at all times while in the designated areas. Must comply with all plant and department safety rules and regulations.

12 hours, day shift
