Twisting Operator C Shift (Night shift) 18.08

Position Overview

To operate the Twisters in the Twisting Department.

Essential Duties (considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):

1. Comply with procedures found in job requirement book. 2. Perform all job duties using safe work methods. 3. Comply with Corporate Absenteeism and Tardiness Policy. 4. Work normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times. Work overtime as required. 5. Comply with all environmental procedures and programs. 6. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. 7. Be in break room ten (10) minutes before your scheduled shift for shift meeting. 8. Inspect packages for defects. 9. Doff twisted packages. 10. Doffing procedure for three-ply product. 11. Troubleshooting checklist. 12. Packout procedure for non-heatset yarn. 13. Creeling procedure. 14. Repairing ends down. 15. Housekeeping. 16. Perform yarn changes. 17. Quality patrols. 18. Maintaining yarn tension. 19. Making a tail. 20. Repair ticket procedure. 21. Waste prevention procedure. 22. Yarn inspection procedure. 23. Follow break scheduled as noted on doff schedule (GPF5013 (http://hqms/doc.asp?dn=22-GPF5013) ). 24. Ensure minimum lag time has been met on Thomson Extruded Yarns (GP5126 (http://hqms/doc.asp?dn=22-GP5126) ).
  1. Follow Splicing Procedure (GP6132 (http://hqms/doc.asp?dn=22-GP6132) ).

Non-Essential Duties (considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):

1. Assist other twisting department personnel as needed.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to sit, stand, or walk for twelve (12) hours. 2. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, lift, carry, and reach occasionally. 3. Ability to lift packages weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds occasionally. 4. Ability to distinguish between colors. 5. Ability to reach safely to a height of 71 inches in a creel without placing excessive ergonomic strain on the body. 6. Must have ability to push a buggy up to 35 lbs with force.

Other Requirements:

1. High school education or its equivalent preferred. 2. Must possess good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. 3. Actively participates in the Quality P.R.I.D.E. Process. 4. Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.

Training Requirements:

1. Must complete orientation training session. 2. Must complete job requirements training as defined in the training procedures. 3. Must complete EQA/Pride Training. 4. Must complete Quality System Training. 5. Must complete MSDS/Chemical Right To Know Training. 6. Must complete Diversity Training.

Tools, Equipment, & Material Requirements:

1. Responsible for safety equipment issued including safety glasses, earplugs, and hairnets. 2. Responsible for materials and supplies issued. 3. Responsible for equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks.

Safety & Security Requirements:

1. Must maintain a safe and clean work area at all times. 2. Must report any unsafe conditions to supervision. 3. Must report all accidents no matter how slight to supervision immediately. 4. Must wear personal protective equipment at all times while in the designated areas. 5. Must comply with all plant and department safety rules and regulations.
