Shaw Contract Concept Designer
Position Overview

Our concept designers work with Shaw's Visualization team, providing the commercial sales force with compelling tools to secure new business and maintain existing customers through the preparation of custom renderings and custom floor designs.
Read and interpret architectural plans
Degree in Architecture/ Interior Design or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
2-year minimum experience (3-4 years preferred) with recent version(s) of Adobe Photoshop, knowledge to include image sizing, layers/ layer management, creating masks, image effects, filtering & merging, using paths, patterns, creating/duplicating lighting effects, perspective & color management.
Experience with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign Preferred but not required
Working knowledge of 2d & 3d modeling programs - AutoCAD, Sketch-up and Revit a Plus
A good understanding of 3d/drawing perspective
Work as part of Shaw’s Visualization team to generate high-quality 2D and Custom Room Scenes (Application of carpet & flooring textures to construction plans and photographs)
Communicate and coordinate with marketing, non-standard products group (NSP), sales reps, architects, interior designers, dealers, estimators and customers to ensure desired output is achieved.
Manage and maintain the creative direction and goals for specific projects and provide accurate time estimates for all projects
Work closely with account executives to schedule and monitor all projects.
Translate schematic design documents to conceptual drawings, by creating and developing designs; that reflect the existing architecture
Partner with sales rep in strategic brainstorming, offering creative solutions and presenting creative rationale that is in line with clients’ objectives.
Prepare image assets for website, print and presentation usage for new product
Art direct or partner with graphic designers in the completion of projects
Review completed projects of work for quality control
Stays current with market trends to understand competitive landscape
Meeting designers if need be along with Sales rep to understand design intend and scheme before conceptualizing
Drawing Quantifications in Auto Cad
Maintain positive relationships with customers, sales reps and internal partners and provide exceptional customer service.
A good understanding of perspective (one point, two point, and three point) and vanishing point, as well as the ability to understand & interpret architectural drawings
Working knowledge of an architecture and design firm’s workflow, from schematics to final design phase
